kimberly blackstock Bio
Based on Canada’s West Coast, Kimberly Blackstock is an internationally recognized artist known for experimentation with colour and paint application. Celebrated by collectors and curators for her signature explorations of joy, Blackstock uses her background in design and illustration to create energetic compositions of three-dimensional dots, parallel lines that drop off the sides of her panels, and pools of thick paint puddled in vibrant hues.
Blackstock’s unconventional style—applying paint with her hands, rags, leftover palette sheets, spray bottles, and squeeze bottles of custom-mixed colours—parallels her central artistic vision: to engage audiences in a process of joyful self-discovery. Renowned for this jubilant convergence between medium and message, Blackstock’s works are exhibited and published in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
Blackstock lives in Vancouver, BC with her husband and two children.
